“This is the local city tour bus, where you won't find an English-speaking tour guide (for everyone else, it was priced at a third of what I paid as a solo traveler). Someone on the bus catered to the tourists from India and the couple from Kathmandu. I was the lone Westerner. Had it not been for the lovely couple from Katmandu, I would have been completely lost. Because of them, this tour was what it was; they took me under their wing. And by luck, it was a Hindu holiday, so some places were free, and it was festive as well.”
